What to Expect:
Joining the South Florida Council contingent to the 2008 Irish International Scout Jamboree will be the highlight of your years in Scouting, regardless if you have just joined or been a member for years. 2008 will mark Scouting 100th anniversary in Ireland, so this will be the largest Jamboree held in Ireland in the past 20 or more years, already there are over 12,000 Scouts registered from across the world. Our contingent is limited to 36 youth Scouts and Venturers (over 14 and under 21) and four adult leaders, so please send in your application as soon as possible, spaces are limited and will fill quickly.
The Tour:
We will depart South Florida on July 29th then travel to Dublin, Ireland, the national capital and one of worlds’ most vibrant and active cities. We will be staying in the city center, near Trinity College, and touring the city for three days before the start of the Jamboree. Following the Jamboree we will be touring the greater Dublin area, Wicklow “The Garden of Ireland,” the sally gap, and Glendalough.

The Jamboree:
With over 12, 000 Scouts and Venturers already signed up from around the world, this is going to be the largest Scouting event held worldwide in 2008. The Jamboree will be full of activities, both on and off the Jamboree site, a sampling of currently showcased activities includes:.

The Cost:
This 15 day trip to Ireland and the 2008 Irish International Jamboree has its cost set at $2575.00 per Scout and Leader. This includes: all transportation from the departure point in South Florida, all airfare, meals, activities, sightseeing, insurance, taxes, registrations, and administrative fees.
